Christmas is here.
And yet the most anticipated, excited and celebrated day must be the evening of Christmas Eve.
All eyes are on the gift-wrapped presents and stockings under the Christmas tree - full of gleaming decors and lit-up mini bulbs.
The tree branches take reflections from the fireplace. The tall order adds to the warmth and coziness of a homely world. Beyond the windows, the snow is falling. It’s white, white Christmas.
The clock is ticking close to midnight. Will Santa Claus come on the deer-pulled sledge?
It’s a magical night of purity, of happiness and stretch of imagination far…far away
The clock strikes midnight. It’s Christmas Day.
Can the presents be opened?
Morning lights shines through curtains of falling snowflakes through the windows. Dogs bark. The world opens up.
Excitement fulfilled with a rush to open the presents. Sight, sound, smell and touch of gift- wrapped papers fill the room. This one from mum, another from dad, one from sister, and another from brother.
Do they like mine?
Time to get dress to go to church. Will a sweater and anorak jacket be warmed enough. It’s snowing heavily now. Dogs brought wet feet with snowflakes into the living room. Nobody minds.
The kitchen seems very busy. It’s another magic releasing all kinds of tricks.
It must be the mince pies; no, it’s the stuffing, roast turkey, or roast potato? The busy oven and stoves keep all warmed.
Just that the dinner table is so overwhelming with food, and holly decors. The secretive giant crackers trumped the cutlery.
Everyone ate too much, but still have rooms for fire-lit Christmas pudding soaked in brandy. Lights out!
Snow is falling even heavier now. Breezes squeeze through the window creeks. It’s cold.
All goes back to the living room, crowded around the fireplace. Time to show off the presents.
It’s dark outside now as we go out on the front door.
The Sound of Silence...silent night...holy night is heard at a breezing distant. We stand in a roll quite freezing under the sky full of stars but warm at heart because family is the Champion on Christmas Day and every day
