"Cool" has been a popular and fun word for the past few decades, likely for a good reason.
This word can be used to describe things, people, ideas, and more.
When referring to a person, "cool" describes someone who is comfortably composed and calm in all situation, especially during difficult times. A cool person is always in control, unique, interesting, and fun to be around. They like and respect themselves as well as others, understand the difference between right and wrong, and when make mistakes—like all humans do—they have the courage to admit it. That actually sounds
very cool !
In terms of temperature, if you drop a few degrees, "cool" becomes "cold". Cold people are characterized as unresponsive, unfeeling, unsmiling, unemotional, untrusting and lacking of empathy and compassion. That doesn’t sound cool at all.
The photographer who took the photo of the ice cave actually went inside one and said it was stunningly beautiful. He felt nice and cool inside, sheltered from the nippy cold caused by the high winds outside that day.
Perhaps that’s how we should strive to keep our cool: by trying not to be tainted by the coldness of nature that seems to blow around us—like a nippy wind from time to time. Let’s shelter our coolness inside and savor it, as we may never know how much it will be appreciated by others..also from time to time.
